Brazilian Smoked Tri Tip

 

Although smoking meat may seem like an impossible feat if you haven't mastered the art of grilling, this recipe can make smoked tri tip a dinner possibility when using a traeger. This entrée looks beautiful and juicy upon presentation with each slice with a marinade and rub full of spices indicative to Brazil such as soy sauce, garlic powder, chili powder and brown sugar.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup kosher salt
  • For Rub
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 cloves of minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons black pepper
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • Marinade
  • 1 2 1/2 lb tri tip
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cumin
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
