  • 4 cups mild vegetable oil or peanut oil, for frying
  • 1 cup cold vodka
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt, plus more to taste
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • Seasoned salt or spice rub (optional)
