Homemade Italian Meatballs

This Italian meatball recipe will give your grandma's cooking a run for her money. These savory meatballs are so juicy and filled with so much flavor, everyone will be coming back for seconds. Pair on top of a plate of spaghetti noodles or enjoy alone.

Ingredients

  • For The Meatballs:
  • 1 & ½ lb ground beef (80% is what I prefer)
  • ½ lb ground veal
  • ½ lb ground pork
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • ¼ cup fresh Italian bread crumbs (recipe below)
  • 3 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 cloves of garlic, finely diced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 4 slices of firm Italian bread, crusts removed (let them sit out for about an hour to firm up)
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 cup of freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 10 cups of fresh marinara sauce
  • For The Fresh Bread Crumbs:
  • 3 slices of white Italian bread, torn into large pieces
  • ¼ cup of freshly grated Romano cheese
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped garlic
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
